iOS TRACKING APPLICATION

Don't have a router or other hardware device that you can connect to our tracking service? No worries, there's an app for that. TrackMyRide.us has developed a robust, yet easy to use iOS application that you can use with any Apple device that has and can maintain an Internet connection. Android users can download a similar program from the PlayStore.

Simply go to the iTunes store, search for TrackMyRide and download the application. There is a one-time charge for the application to help defray the cost of development, but the tracking service is free*. You get all the same, great features of the TrackMyRide.us website no matter if you are using your own hardware, hardware manufactured by a third-party or a software application like the one offered at the iTunes store.

Once you have downloaded and installed the application, follow the simple instructions below to configure the application for your personal use.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Before downloading and installing the app, we recommend that you first create your TrackMyRide.us account. Accounts are free and easy to setup. Create and confirm your account, then download the app to your iOS Device. We recommend uninstalling any previous versions of the app first. On the app has been downloaded, install it on your device. STEP 1

Download the app from the Apple iTunes store. Confirm the purchase of the app and start the download. Once the app is downloaded open it

When the app starts it will take you to the login page. If you don't already have a user name and password either click the link above the E-mail Address text box, or navigate to the TrackMyRide.us website to create a free account. You will receive a confirmation e-mail message asking you to active your account. Once your account has been activated you may return here to complete the login process.

Enter your TrackMyRide e-mail address and password. Click the SIGN IN button. The password will not be shown. If you enter an incorrect email address or password the app will let you know and will suggest that you try again. Make sure you have an active Internet connection as it will authenticate your information in real time. If you have forgotten your password you may click Forgot your password link to be redirected to the TrackMyRide web site where you can reset it.

STEP 4

Once you have successfully logged in you will be redirected to the status page. In order to use the app you must add a device to your account and then select the device using the settings menu. You cannot create devices using the app but you can head over to the TrackMyRide site, login to your account and add a new device. Once the device has been added to your account you will be able to select it from the settings menu.

STEP 5

If you click the settings menu at the top left of the app you will be redirected to a page where you may select any of your account's devices, the reporting interval or sign out of the application.

STEP 6

Choose the reporting frequency for your device. The reporting frequency allows you to specify how often you want the application to report its position information back to the TrackMyRide servers. You may choose between every 30 seconds, once per minute, every 5 minutes, once an hour, or once every 24 hours. The device must remain powered on in order for the app to report your position information, regardless of the reporting frequency. The app can be minimized and the app will still report your location. Be sure to click the SAVE button to save your settings. Depending upon your cellular provider the app may stop reporting its position during phone conversations. Providers such as Sprint have a restriction on using cellular data during voice calls. This is a restriction of the provider and not a limitation of the app.

STEP 7

Click the SIGN OUT button to close the application and disconnect from the TrackMyRide service. If you sign out the application will no longer report your position information. Click the YES button to sign out. Click the NOT, CANCEL button to stay logged in.

That's it. To track your device, login to your account and view it on the live map. As long as your iOS device has an Internet connection and the app is running it will report your position. You will have all the functionality of any other hardware device with the iOS application. You will receive alerts, be able to track your device, send tracking e-mails to others and have all the reporting capabilities of all TrackMyRide users.
