Device Name

The Device Name is the label used to identify the device to the TrackMyRide application. It is also used in any SMS (text messages) and log files. The device name is usually a friendly name that represents the device.

The device name may be modified at any time by clicking the icon next to the device name. When clicked, a text box will appear. The user may type in a new device name (up to a maximum of 50 characters). After entering a new name click the Save button to update the name. The change is instantaneous and the new name will appear on all user's maps that are tracking the device. Changing the device name is harmless has no effect on audit logs or alerts.

Click the Cancel button to discard the changes and return to the device list.
